Last week my daughter desperately wanted to make a cake for her teachers. I agreed that we would do it this week. She doesn't start school until 12:30 each day since she is only in preschool and I thought I would have plenty of time Monday morning to make one. I forgot I had appointments. Wondering what to do, I remembered this cake, which I learnt when doing Tupperware. It is the easiest and fastest but still moist and tasty cake I know. You can have it done and out the door within 20 minutes.
Toblerone Chocolate Cake (doesn't have to be Toblerone!)
1 chocolate cake mix (I use Homebrand)
1 packet Cottee's instant chocolate pudding
1 cup of lemonade
1/4 cup oil
200g Toblerone (or other chocolate, I used a block of Violet Crumble this time)
Mix the cake mix, pudding mix, lemonade, oil and eggs together until smooth. Place in a microwave safe cake container (I use a bundt shaped silicone one) and cook in the microwave for 9 minutes. (If you have a weak microwave like me, you may need a few more minutes).
Once it has finished, set it aside. Break the chocolate into chunks and melt it in the microwave. Do it in 30 second bursts and mix it each time. Chocolate often holds its shape until you stir it and it is easy to burn, so watch it closely.
Once it has melted, slowly stir int he cream to make your topping (a ganache).
Turn the cake out onto a plate and pour the topping over it, then serve.
As you can see in the picture, we also added sprinkles.
